Research Engineer (Singapore PR or Singaporean only)

Applicants are invited for place as a Research Engineer at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National University of Singapore (NUS). The successful applicant will join a team of researchers in the new Institute of Interactive Digital Media with a focus on Augmented Reality, Mobile Computing, and Computer-Human Interaction. The work is highly inter-disciplinary in nature and has applications in arts, architecture, medicine, education, entertainment, etc.
Qualifications
Preferred: MSc or MEng above
For Bachelor Degree holders: At least 1 year working experience required, good track record of academic publication, good in Mathematics.
Minimum required skills
Strong background in C/C++ and Object Oriented Programming.
Basic exposure to Win32 API programming.
Basic exposure to DirectX graphics programming (Direct3D).
Image Processing and/or Computer Vision background preferred.
Preferred skills
Programming experience in Windows Mobile platform and Direct3D Mobile.
Experience in DirectShow programming.
Experience in OpenCV programming.
Responsibilities
Project on a 3-year AStar project on Mobile Computing and Mobile Media
Design and implement algorithms and systems for augmented reality applications.
Support the research activities of the Interactive Multimedia Lab, Website: www.iml.org.sg
Supervise undergraduate student projects.
The appointment can commence immediately and will be initially for one year (contract based) with possibility for extensions.

Research Assistant(Game Script Programmer)

The successful applicant will join a team of researchers in the new Institute of Interactive Digital Media with a focus on Augmented Reality, Mobile Computing, and Computer-Human Interaction. The work is highly inter-disciplinary in nature and has applications in arts, architecture, medicine, education, entertainment, etc.
Qualifications:
Diploma degree (or above) in Computer Science/ Game Development/ Interactive Media, with experience in software development, preferably in game & 3D projects (including school projects).
Familiar with at least one of script languages (such as LUA, Python, Torque scripts etc)
Basic knowledge about the theories and algorithms of Computer Graphics
Strong written and verbal communication skills, good attitude and personality of being a team player
Currently residing in Singapore and being available for face to face interviews upon request
The appointment can commence immediately and will be initially for one year (contract based) with possibility for extensions.
Preferred skill sets:
Familiarity with DirectX or OpenGL is a plus
Familiarity with game engine or 3D game is a plus
Familiarity with C/C++ is a plus
Familiarity with 3D Max and Maya is a plus
Work experience is a plus
Responsibilities:
Be involved in the planning, conceptualization, and implementation of the game related projects
Program using script languages or programming languages
Test and maintenance of the games and other relevant applications
To support designers and the technical team in the integrations
