The IML has exhibited the WizCubes in “Discover Engineering @ NUS” on Feb. 24, 2011. “Discover Engineering @ NUS” is an outreach event organised for the incoming SM2 and SM3 students. Our new Ph.D student Mr Li Zhuwen successfully presented WizCubes in this event, which got the highest attention among all exhibits. |

Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) is Singapore’s premier infocomm industry association and brings together 400 corporate members from MNCs and local companies. The SiTF Awards is a platform to recognise and showcase “Made In Singapore” ICT innovation by multinational companies, infocomm Local Enterprises (iLE), start-ups and students.
A record 150 nominations were received during the three-month nomination period from June to August 2010. After a rigorous selection process, the 19 eventual winners were identified by the judging panel which promised ICT industry luminaries, venture capitalists, investors and representatives from academia.
MXR Corporation’s winning product, MXR Web3D platform, relies on the cutting edge AR technology. We waltzed through the preliminary selection phase, got ourselves widely identified in front of the judging panel and finally clinched the winner award in Digital Media Category. This award shows that MXR Corporation is able to create and deliver a new potential capability in media field such as online advertisement, TV shows and games.

Two papers from Interactive Multimedia Lab have been conditionally accepted in ISMAR 2010 Conference on 30 Jul, 2010. One paper " MTMR: A Conceptual Interior Design Framework Intergrating Mixed Reality with the Multi-Touch Tabletop Interface" is from Dr. Steven Zhou's PHD Student, Wei Dong, it is accepted as a poster (2 page limit). Another Paper " Positioning, Drift-free Tracking and Mapping for Outdoor Augmentation" is from Dr. Jayashree Karlekar, it is accepted as as a long paper (10 page limit). Only 24 papers out of 107 paper submissions are accepted or conditionally accepted for publication (22.4%).
